Our Mission

From 1994 to 2016 with the Parksville Royals, we honor Dave Wallace’s legacy through scholarships for local youth. Beyond the diamond, Dave was a champion of the arts, encouraging his daughter’s journey in ballet, drama, and singing across Canada, the US, and the UK. Reflecting his broad spirit, this fund supports athletes, performers, and all young people pursuing excellence in sport or the arts, fostering character and growth in every arena of life.

Development over victories.

Effort over shortcuts.

For 23 years, Dave Wallace coached the Parksville Royals — and in the process, shaped how a generation of Vancouver Island players thought about the game, and about themselves. This fund carries his standard forward.

" You put your best effort into everything you do… whether it is your school work or your band or your job. You give it your best. Always. You don’t take shortcuts because it shows up in the results."- Dave Wallace

Long-term development over short-term victory

We focus on growth that lasts. Like Dave, we care more about who players become over time than any single win on the field.

Effort on the field, at school, and in life

We believe the way you show up matters everywhere—on the diamond, in the classroom, and in the community. Effort and character travel with you.

The Wallace Legacy Fund has provided over $25,000 in donations to local students and the community.

Through the collective impact of our donors, we are able to continue Dave's mission of supporting excellence in sport and the arts across Vancouver Island.

Canadian Baseball Network names its Coach of the Year Award after Dave Wallace.

OUR IMPACT

Sustaining a Legacy Through Your Generosity

The Wallace Legacy Fund is sustained by generous contributions from those who believe in Dave’s values and the young people he mentored. The Wallace Legacy Fund has partnered with the Nanaimo Foundation to receive donations, ensuring every gift receives a tax-deductible receipt.

The Wallace Legacy Fund would like to acknowledge the dedication and commitment from JE Anderson & Associates for their initial contribution which allowed this legacy fund to be built on Dave's behalf.

Dave was a partner in JE Anderson for over 40 years helping them develop offices across Vancouver Island and build a professional legacy as well for land surveyors and developers in all areas of the island. Employees to this day still speak fondly of Dave.

THANK YOU JE ANDERSON & ASSOCIATES
